I grew up in Abington and find it to be a tight community. Individuals usually have at least one member of their family that will live in the town for their entire lives.
I love it in abington. There are so many amazing local businesses from food and coffee shops, to insurance agencies, to nail and hair salons. Since it is a small town, it is typical for many people to know each other. The one thing I would love to see changed in this town, however, would be how our town hall operates. I feel as though a lot of the time these meetings are very chaotic and unproductive, and some people's opinions are sometimes overshadowed by others.
I love how quiet it is especially my neighborhood in West Abington. I love how close it is to Boston and also Cape Cod. The highway is close either through South Weymouth or Brockton.
School system needs to work on equal rules for all students. Town offices need work a lot of nepotism with in the town.
Moving here was the best option! Me and my family are much happier and there are so many opportunities for work and healthy lifestyles! Abington is also a perfect place if you wish to raise a child. The schools have a outstanding education system and always supports the children with their problems and troubles. Everyone who lives here are friendly and helps each others whether it's a snowstorm or finances. The super markets always include fresh produce and all public areas (and schools) have mask rules for Covid safeties.
Abington is the perfect, 3 stoplight town with two ice cream shops and a good school district. abington has direct access to route 18, making for easy commutes with train access as well.
I moved here about two years ago with my family, and it is the first house we have ever purchased. We were welcomed to a perfect little neighborhood and we could not be more thankful enough to have such an amazing support system up and down the street! Coming from a low-income place that had no fun, we were welcomed with open arms and we have made connections and friendships that will last for a lifetime. Thanks so much!
Small town where you can get to know everyone. Everyone basically knows your name. Great people who stick together in a time of need
We are a young family of four who purchased a house and moved to the town 2.5 months ago. We didn't know much about the area beyond it being a safe place to live and reportedly ideal for raising children. So far, it has not disappointed. In the short amount of time that we have been here 5 of our neighbors have come to introduce themselves and welcome us to the neighborhood, the family we purchased our house from was super kind and left us with a very helpful packet and our realtor has continued to check on us. The 15 minute walk to the commuter rail is a breeze and all of the shopping we need is a five minute drive away. So far, we are quite content!
Abington was a wonderful town to grow up in. There is a huge sense of community and it is a great thing to be apart of. It is close enough to Boston if you need to commute into work.
A tranquil town with convenience stores every 10 blocks. Though the only problem I've faced with the place is the traffic which only worsens my commute time to cross the next town adjacent to it. There's many interesting pubs for any nightclub fanatics.
I think this town is almost perfect for family. It is safe, clean, good environment, it is like a country city, but close to Boston. You can enjoy this town and live happy. ¡Trust it!
Abington is a small town with a real sense of comunity. People always rally around eachother during times of need.
I honestly think the town is perfect the way it is. I have always felt very comfortable and happy in this town. The people in it are welcoming and safe, they are always looking out and helping one another. I feel as well, that the local businesses have always been good about helping out the school district in terms of providing items, or sponsoring events. The parks and recreation department is excellent in terms of youth sports organizations and summer activities/programs. Children in this town have plenty of opportunities, as do adults.
I like being able to know everybody in school because it is a good size. I have been living in this town since I was 4 years old and it will always be home. There's almost everything I need here. one thing that could be worked on is finding things to make this town lively sometimes it gets a little boring.
It's a small town that has a strong community that cares for one another. When one suffers a tragedy the community comes together to support that family. Abington lost a dad on 9/11 when his plane hit the second tower. Every year we hold a memorial race in his honor. For a little town we have suffered much loss but through it all we stand together and lean on one another. No one is forgotten.
Abington is a nice, quiet place to live. There are not really any good restaurants that deliver to our house but our neighborhood is quiet and safe.
