Abita is a small, lovely town! Very connected with many local gatherings and events such as Farmer's market, garden of the month, Mardi Gras Pushmow parade, events at the trailhead, etc. Always making little improvements such as planting flowers and such in the round-about.

The weather here can be really iffy, but I've grown up with it my whole life so I am really used to it. The winter this year was really harsh. But now that the cold is over it's getting very hot; mostly in the high 80s for the weeks. But also it rains a lot here, mostly without warning. It's always good to have an umbrella on you. During the summer and fall is our hurricane season and we've been real lucky not getting any major storms.

The food options here are great. A lot of the actual restaurants are very local to the area and serve the type of food most people around here would it, which is delicious. We have a couple of ethnic food places as well which is really great. Most restaurants here you can get really good seafood for a decent price which is awesome.
