A nice, quiet town with almost no crime at all. Many people only come for the school, though, because there is very little to this town beyond the high school. A lot of good restaurants, but nothing in the realm of entertainment; not even a movie theatre. I often find myself with nothing to do on the weekends and end up not leaving my house.
However, there is a lot of historical stuff here. It is where Captain Isaac Davis, the first officer killed in the Revolution, is from. There are many more resources in the library and town hall. Acton is also a great place to check out, support, or start up a small business. Nearly every store or restaurant is unique and independently owned, so a young entrepreneur would find themselves at home.

This area is great if you can afford it and know how to use its resources. There is an abundance of nature trails and conservation land around, and the school system consistently prepares kids well. There is generally a good community feel around here and people are friendly.

However, we also have opioid use issues in the town and surrounding area, and compared to other towns that are closer to Boston, Acton can often feel like "the sticks": you have to drive for half an hour sometimes to get somewhere worth hanging out.

Despite the occasional story about a heroin bust, one generally feels very safe walking around town alone, even at night. Police are visible and friendly, and any serious threat to public safety is taken very seriously.
