There are really only two seasons here in Southeast Louisiana, Summer and Winter! The winters are not typically bad, but they are wet and the cold is painful! But they do not stay that way for long! Sometimes we have very mild winters that barely get cold! The Summer months begin here when most people are just starting to thaw out! We can swim from about April until October, most years! There are a lot of severe thunderstorms, though. Sometimes, these include tornados. During Hurricane season we are typically pretty aware! Being located in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico makes for good hurricane entry. But, overall it's okay!

There is very little crime in my area. I guess it would be hard for people to commit a crime when everyone knows everyone's business! The neighborhood watch is more like a Town Watch! There are no organized meetings, but do not go to the grocery store without letting everyone know how everyone is doing!

There are a lot of to go out for a bite to eat! There are many unique places for food and drinks. I never have a problem finding a place for my friends and I to go have a drink or have dinner. There are also a lot of places that are family friendly! Not as many clubs to go dancing at, but that's ok.
