Having lived in Allentown, PA for more than eight years I have to say that this is a really interesting place that is changing through time. Allentown is multicultural, which is great for people that enjoy food from different cultures; specially Spanish food. A significant amount of money has been invested in center city Allentown, which has brought a significant amount of money to the city. The PPL center has brought many great faces to our great city; Disney on ice, Kevin Hart..

There are some small problems with crimes within the center city of Allentown. Overall, this city is an awesome city, which is heading in the right path to become out of the most popular cities in Pennsylvania.

If you like small town living and do not mind traveling to get to the most exciting events this is the place to be. There are lots of friendly people there, however it is not a place that is accepting of people that come from different walks of life. The weather is beautiful, if you do not mind the snow. The town is slowly growing and will eventually be a great place to be, regardless of what side of town you live on. There is a significant amount of crime in the “downtown” area and problems get swept under the rug. There are a lot of issues that need to be addressed within the city and government.

Both my parents were raised in Allentown. We had family in Allentown, but one by one they have moved out. Generations of my family were raised and lived there. The only remaining relative is my uncle. He has drug dealers living next door to him. If he leaves anything outside it gets stolen. He has had people shot out on his street. Crime has escalated in this once nice home town. I fear for my safety just driving through Allentown. My parents moved us out of Allentown when we were very young. Violence, over crowded classrooms were something my parents wanted to get us away from. This once lovely town has become a scary place to live, work, play or go to school.
