I have grown up in Alsip my entire life. I think the schools are good and the community is safe because I have made it to my senior year of college. The village of Alsip keeps the landscape decent. This is not a fancy town but normal. Our taxes in Alsip are lower than the surrounding suburbs. With all the programs we are exposed to in Alsip, I believe Alsip is doing a great job distributing tax money.
The people in Alsip range from young adults to elders in their late 80s. People moved to Alsip from Chicago and never left. I think that shows just how homey Alsip is. If my field of study was located in Illinois, I would stay in Alsip for a long time.

Alsip is a great community to raise a family. The police are on their job to make sure you are safe. They have a nice amount of stores to shop from but need to increase. The housing market is average and the schools are average. Alsip needs something more to put it on the map to draw more families. It is a close net community with opportunity to grow.

No crime has revolved and everything does get better when necessary. However, there are abandoned buildings that need to be removes, it is starting to look junky.
