Most restaurants offer cheap, bad food for people who eat-out on a daily basis instead of actually cooking for themselves. The few restaurants that serve decent food are overpriced, because they are "nice" by comparison. Chinese food is the one exception; lots of good places nearby that charge fair prices.

There area few pubs that are good for having a beer, but there are no nearby bars that I would order wine/cocktails at or consider to be trendy.

Stores hardly ever get renovated, so most are poorly maintained and outdated. Most of the stores are everyday chains in shopping centers that have infuriating parking lots. Most mom-and pop shops are especially dilapidated and spoil any potential of small-town charm.

There are a lot of great food places in my county! It is not comparable to anything in California or New York, but for Pennsylvania I think there are a lot of great options.
