Friendly country town close to everything! Very accessible and convenient. I wish they would stop building so many subdivisions.
Lower crime in Arcadia Township. Lower property taxes. Good schools. Close to Winston-Salem, Lexington, and Clemmons. Rolling hills. Lots of trees. An hour and a half drive to Boone (mountains). Lots of wineries. Friendly people. Not a lot of racial diversity - mostly white. Moved here from Charlotte. Less crowded. Can visit Charlotte in a forty-five to an hour's drive.
The only crime you hear about in the area is petty crimes, even then its nothing that worries me in my community. Police are quick to respond when need but stay out of sight must of the time.
I enjoy being away from the busy streets closer to town, but the proximity of Winston-Salem and Lexington are a added bonus. I have never had any problems with other persons in area. great public school and wonderful BBQ!!
Crime in our town is not like most places. We are able to feel safe in our neighborhoods and not feel afraid to step out of out houses at night.
There is not really a lot of crime in my area.
I love living here. Being out in the open with not many people around is the best. Not only do I love it but my pets love it especially my goats, pigs, and cattle. It is a fun filled environment and not many people get to live every day like I get to live. I would live here for the rest of my life if I could. I think that this area will only continue to grow more and more better every year. We have nice neighbors (the little neighbors that we have) and a lot of support from the community. The community usually comes together to help in many organizations.
The weather is usually moderate.
A decent variety of locally owned restaurants. Only one or two late-night dining restaurants or bars.
Lexington is a nice place to live. I enjoyed living there and would do it again. There are many unknowledgable/ignorant people in this area though--very conservative and close-minded. In the future, I hope this area becomes more welcoming of diversity.
Police/fire services are in close proximity and are quick to respond to calls. Trash and recycling services are great--always timely. Not a fan of our current governor or state representatives.
There is not a huge selection of stores to choose from in this area, but of the stores in the area, most of them are big-name stores, such as Walmart, Dollar Tree, Food Lion, Walgreens. Everything a person needs can be found here.
hot in the summer cold in the winter everynow and then we have a bad ice storm or a tornado but generally really nice.
