Great place to live, great community experience for families and young adults, as well as a thriving over 55 community. Great schools and shopping, only drawback is that because so many want to live here, traffic can be bad at times!

Ashburn, Virginia is a convenient city to live in. It is close to major highways, there are good schools around and the neighborhood amenities are great. There are lots of great places to eat and it seems that the neighborhood seems to be expanding every year. It is a place I recommend to live in if you can afford it. The cost of living is generally higher in Ashburn than the surrounding areas like Sterling and Leesburg.

While I myself have not been a victim of any crime, I have heard from several friends and family members that they have known people who have been mugged, or have been mugged themselves. Many female friends also feel as though the area is somewhat unsafe and are reluctant to walk alone at night.

Another issue is the threat of terrorism. Due to the terrorist attacks in Paris and more recently in West Africa, Dakar has been identified as a possible target for a terrorist attack. Police have taken measures to counter this and are now more frequently seen on busy streets, but the fear of a possible attack still remains.
