Atascadero is becoming more of a bedroom community to the happiest city in America. With an easy and beautiful commute on "the Grade" people who chose to live in the much more affordable town of Atascadero can be in SLO in just minutes, to the beach in 30 minutes and to wine country in 20 minutes. These drive times are important because the town offers little else than affordable living, thrift stores, and outdated strip mall.

Beautiful landscape, more affordable than San Luis Obispo, convenient drive-thrus and grocery stores/gas stations. Many playgrounds and parks.

Most of the houses here have a great yard. They are ok and somewhat unique. The price are a little bit expensive but I believe it is a good area to raise a family. Their isn't much that goes on here; just like any other small town. They have a lot of apartments and houses which is pretty nice. Some are very affordable. They have a few traditional restaurants that are not chains; and also those typical fast-food restaurants that are everywhere! They have a nice recreation center as well! But can mainly be occupied for senior citizens and kids. They have a lot of green area which makes it very friendly and it looks very beautiful. Theres a lot of places you can visit from 20 to 40 minutes away in a vehicle. Inside this town their isn't much to do.
