Austin is a fast growing city with much to offer. The job market has only strengthened over the past decade and it is a major center for tech and start up businesses. Additionally, having two universities and an extensive community college network provides plenty of opportunity for continuing education. Set just east of the Texas hill country, the city of Austin is peppered with green spaces and swimming holes, making it an ideal place for outdoor enthusiasts. Another attractive element that Austin has to offer is it's diverse and robust arts and entertainment communities. Austin is well known for it's live music, but it is also home to many talented performers, dancers and visual artists. There is no shortage of activities to explore and enjoy in Austin!

Austin, the 'Live Music Capital of the World,' has been named one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation, due to its lower cost of living. Since I'm 18, I can't say much about the nightlife, only what I've been told from others. Downtown Austin is home to 6th street, attracting tourists from all over the world to listen to various live bands and orchestras year-round. Austin City Limits music festival and South by Southwest are only two of the main attractions located in Austin. As mentioned, Austin is substantially diverse, with people immigrating from China, India, Europe and South America. Being considered one of the most liberal cities in Texas, it happens to be highly accepting of different religious customs, beliefs, and social activism. With that said, Austin continues to promote healthy living by showcasing stores such as Sprouts and Whole Foods in media and advertisement. Austin is a wonderful city and I'm proud to be an Austinite!

Austin is a great and fun city! The nightlife is amazing and one of the main attractions is 6th street. I love the fact that the environment is mainly aimed towards college students because it helps me fit in. Aside from the entertainment, there are plenty of job opportunities as well. I've really liked being here attending the University of Texas at Austin. I'm currently studying Communication Disorders and the level of education is great! However, something that I would like to see more of in terms of pedestrian safety is sidewalks. I think it's a very important issue because of the amount of traffic there is. People need to have a safe place where to walk on.
