Crime & Safety at Austin: Not much crime around here. Just some vehicle break-ins occasionally.
    • 4
Overall Experience at Austin: It's a neighborhood where people walk their dogs and look out for one another. It is not a fancy neighborhood, but the houses are quiet large. There is not convenient public transportation, which is a bummer. As a kid going to the neighborhood schools, it was great. If I had a family, I would consider living here again. However, as a young single college kid, I would prefer to live downtown.
    • 3
Crime & Safety at Parker Lane: It's a typical area within the city. not the best but not the worst. I wouldn't go out alone though.
    • 3
Overall Experience at Parker Lane: It's a great apartment complex and there are a few good restaurants within walking distance.
    • 3
Crime & Safety at Crestview: Living in a metropolitan area means that there will always be some crime, but it is very rare that you hear of homicide or serious crimes in Austin, opposed to other metropolitan areas within Texas. The police in Austin are all over the place, and they aren't just there to write you a speeding ticket. The police patrol often and make sure everything is good, and when you need them they are there quick.
