Over the past 24 years that I've lived here, I can count on one hand the number of crimes that have happened to someone I had a connection with. People feel safe walking. The presence of a busy street going straight through town makes crime less likely. I often see the police doing rounds while I'm walking my dog every morning. Anytime I've called the police on a non-emergency manner, they have been very helpful. There are neighborhood watch programs.

Residential areas with lots of green space and little noise pollution interspersed with islands of commercial shops. Others have remarked about how everything one could possibly want is within a 15-20min drive. After living in more rural areas, I find myself wanting to live in a suburban area like this forever. I hope that this area doesn't get over-commercialized in the future.

For a growing family with younger kids Avon has a good school system with many developments to live in. The parks are nice and there are recreational sports for their kids to join. There is also little crime in this area. There are some parades through out the year, including the world famous Duck Tape parade and festival. It is also a pet friendly community as most people have a cat, dog or some other pet.
