Bakersfield is a place many love to call home. No matter where you go, there is a strong change you'll run into an old friend, teacher or someone you use to work with. Education is also another strong point of this town's heart and joy. It has one of the biggest high school districts in the country, boasting over 15 high schools. I personally went to high school here and have enjoyed my time back home for the holidays. It's super warm these days and it's a great place to meet up with old friends for coffee anywhere. There may be no beaches or mountains, but the people make this place home!

Bakersfield is a medium sized city, and growing. It has a city feel but with a small town touch to it. I enjoy the many restaurants that are locally owned. The annual Kern County Fair is a delight and joy to attend, it is very "country" like and fun! My overall experience living in Bakersfield has been positive and rewarding. It is centrally located 112 miles above LA and two hours from Pismo in the opposite direction. The cost of living is affordable and jobs are available here. I love it here!

Bakersfield is a beautiful town that is filled with fun activities and a diversified population that shares many cultural traditions and offers great opportunity for the people in general. However, a lot of people may argue that our town is dirty and dusty, but they fail to see past our air quality and at the good things in life. Our streets are clean and family-friendly and you're sure to find a fun place to reside in anywhere you go!
