Bandera is a small town. If you don't mind the nearly hour long commute to San Antonio, it's a great place to be. There's not much to do, but crime is low, you can see the stars at night (even the Milky Way), and people will definitely stop while you're out for a walk to have a chat. If you like cowboys, even better, because this is the "Cowboy Capital of the World"!
