I think crime is a growing problem in our area. Kids don't always have the best home life or anything to keep them occupied, so they turn to drugs, alcohol, and violence. There are also some strange characters that can move in around here that aren't originally from the area that sometimes make me feel uneasy. I see the police out sometimes but only keeping an eye on things. They watch out for the community but only react when they must. I just make myself paranoid a lot of times simply from seeing the news and knowing what could happen.

Local businesses here consist of the businesses that were here when our parents were growing up. Very little has changed and people from this valley don't mind it so much since it is what they are used to. If we had bigger companies move in, I think some of these smaller businesses would definitely begin to fail. If you can't find what you're looking for at Redner's, then you have to drive 20-30 minutes just to reach the nearest Wal-Mart.

Means of employment all depend on how you look at it. If you desire to be a farmer or work with the land, then this is the place to be and you won'y have much trouble. Now for the corporal world and medical field, there is slim to nothing nearby since we are such a small town. Other than farming, there is coal mining too and some small petty jobs but that's about as good as it gets.
