I love the area I live in! It is safe for everyone around, the crime is not very high. Although it is located near one of the highest crime rate city, New Orleans, it is peaceful! Also it is a short drive to see the city, or you can go see the gulf! The people around the area are so kind, and generous; they always ask about your day. The atmosphere when you do go downtown is like no other, you can hear the faint sound of Cajuns speaking in French, and jazz bands. It truly is an experience like no other.

Belle Chasse is a great place to raise the family. It's honestly a bit of a pricey place to live if you're part of a lower-middle class family like I am. Other than that, though, I have no complaints. I would not choose to live here again, only because I would rather live in New Orleans.

I am a senior at Belle Chasse High School. I moved here from Algiers Point by way of Westwego because I wanted to get a good public school education and play sports. I like that Belle Chasse is a safe melting pot community of various cultures. My family and I feel like we live in the seclusion of the country with the conveniences of being close to town.
