The local businesses in this area are great. Everytime I visit one, everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Most popular in this area is probably Lennys Pizza. Everyone hangs out there after school. The food is great too!

There are many attractions close to my hometown. Many local communities offer carnivals, street fairs, 4H fairs, music festivals, etc.

Many non profit organizations offer a variety of events during the year. One of the largest events in my area is the Far Hills Race Meeting, a charitable benefit for Somerset Medical Center that draws nearly 50,000 people from the Northeast. Other noteworthy events include Miles for Matheny in Peapack, Charter Day in Basking Ridge, Bernardsville Street Fair and Sounds Around Town and the Somerset County 4H Fair, the largest free family fair East of the Mississippi, drawing nearly 60,000 visitors in 3 days.

Bernardsville is a tight knit community, many people know each other. Many people volunteer for many of the civic groups, church groups, etc. People tend to live here on average over 20 years, although due to some of the corporate employers in the area, there is a fair amount of transfers and relocation. Bernardsville is a family and pet friendly area. Some noteworthy events include Sounds Around Town, Bernardsville Street Fair, the volunteer fire company's many fundraisers including the Summer Bash and Haunted Fire truck rides.
