There is plenty of parking in the immediate area. Walking and biking are very common, and it is safe to do so. There is no public transportation in the immediate area because it is such a small town. However, in neighboring areas there is quite a lot of public transportation available that is convenient. The area does not have that much traffic.

The immediate area still has a somewhat small town feel. There are a couple gas stations, pharmacy type stores, and a grocery store. Good shopping and eating is only about 15-20 minutes away. There you have Walmart, Kroger, Target, clothing and shoe stores, sporting goods stores, etc.

The summers are hot and humid. Spring is warm and sometimes rainy. Fall is cool. Winter is usually only moderately cold. On rare occasions it snows or ices a little bit. Definitely prepare to dress in light clothing during the summer. The humidity is pretty bad. There are really no natural disasters that happen.
