I like that Bloomingdale is a small suburban town surrounded by acres of preserved forest land. The community is a close-knit group and you grow up knowing everyone in town and in school. We have yearly community events including parades, clean-up days, holiday celebrations, and memorial services. There is little to no nightlife; however, it makes it perfect for young families. Bloomingdale is in also close proximity to many fun places and only about an hour from New York City.

In my area, we experience all four seasons. Winters can get extremely dangerous as we have frequent snowstorms. In the spring we experience flooding of our local river. My basement had only flooded three or four times. No serious natural disasters happen here except for Superstorm Sandy in 2012. The summers can get extremely hot and up to 100 degrees on some August days. You need every seasonal clothing out there including bathing suits to north face jackets

In my area, there are a ton of dollar stores where you can get almost anything you need for very cheap prices. My town consists of mostly all mom-and-pop shops, florists, gas stations, bars, and restaurants. The food at the restaurants are pretty good. The bars are very welcoming. You do not have to drive more than five minutes to buy anything you need or to shop at our local Walmart, Target, Lowes, Home Depot, and Petco.
