I have lived in bogalusa la for almost 10 years. The schools here really need a lot of improvement. Almost every school in this town has a grade of C or lower. Their are a lot of young kids that end up turning to drugs and getting in trouble at young ages. I would love to see some good things happen for the kids to keep them out of trouble. We really need to open a bowling alley, skating ring, arcade or something to keep the children off the streets. There are lots of good people in this town and lots of good could happen. I believe that our Education needs to be first and everything else will follow.
Although the police are visible, it's difficult to keep crime away. Drug deals are of main concern, as well as vandalism. Unfortunately, being a small town, it's very difficult to stop these things from occurring. It's a problem that has only gotten worse through time. I'm afraid that this is the main reason that Bogalusa has slowly dwindled into only a portion of what it once was. I believe it unsafe to walk around the city during the day, much less at night, by oneself. This is extremely disconcerting.
Particularly where I live is pleasant, but the actually city of Bogalusa is fading fast. It used to be a wonderful little town when I was growing up, but since has seen a large shift downhill. I am currently planning to permanently move out of the city.
