Coming from Boston, I noticed that Charlotte was a very clean city. The streets had very little trash on them, the busses were always sparkling and the brand new light rail system made the commute much more enjoyable. Charlotte is a tough city to walk in however. If you want to neighborhood hop, you most definitely need to take a cab or drive from place to place. The food is amazing. Greatest BBQ in the US! There are unique spots in each neighborhood, and each area puts their own little twist on their culinary masterpieces. My favorite spot in town is Prices Chicken Coop or Macs.

Charlotte has grown a lot over the past decade, and it now has a color and flavor that appeals to all demographics. Charlotte is very family centric and therefore has a wide range of family friendly activities such as museums, children's centers, and outdoor parks. For the arts lover, there are numerous museums uptown that offer the culture and arts appreciation that you desire. For the thespian, Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in addition to various community theaters have more than enough stage productions to quench your thirst for theatre throughout the year. Finally, Charlotte has become very well known for its brewery scene and night life. If you enjoy a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying the latest brew, NoDA and Southend are for you. The final positive about Charlotte is that it is very modern and clean, and it is hard to find an area that hasn't been updated or restored in some way.

I relocated to Charlotte in 1991 from Connecticut. I absolutely love it here! There's so much entertainment to maintain an active lifestyle. Or, you can just enough the peace and quiet of the country. I would recommend Charlotte to anyone.
