Pleasanton is a great and safe town to raise a child. The schools are well-run and adequately prepare students for later life. There are numerous parks to spend time at, and downtown is incredibly scenic. The town, however, is very affluent, which comes with a few major downsides. For young adults and those in their 20's or 30's, there is virtually nothing to do past 9PM. The vast majority of stores and restaurants are chains, and the nearest movie theater is the town next over. My marching band competitions would end in the late hours of the night, and we would have to go to the IHOP in the town over for food, as there were very few restaurants open.
The nightlife aside, Pleasanton is a very great town to live in. I always feel safe no matter where I am, and I am grateful that I could receive a quality education from the town's schools.

Pleasanton is a beautiful community. The public education is superb and this city provides greenspace, making it completely safe and family friendly. They host Farmer's Market frequently and grocery stores are within reach so that there is access to healthy food. Because this is a wonderful community, the cost of living and its housing is extremely expensive. Additionally, there aren't places to go for nightlife because it is so family oriented. Recommend this for people who are looking to settle.

My overall experience in the town of Pleasanton has been a good one. The people who live there are always very friendly and the police force works together with the town to create a very safe environment. Their are so many things to do at any time of the year. We have attractions at the Alameda Fairgrounds year round, and the job opportunities for students are endless. The only thing I would change would be the public school system. There have been issues with some schools that I think should be resolved.
