Niche User:This area is a family friendly place. It's up and coming, and every year a new popular eatery is opened or a store nearby. It's a great place to start a family because the schools and the environment is amazing. It's even great for those who are wanting to retire and need a calm and relaxed place to live.

    The Woodlands

    • City in Texas
    • 215 reviews
Niche User:This place is great to settle down and raise a family in. I think that most people who leave do so because of work. Some neighborhoods are very close and have regular block parties, and others are the opposite. It's just the luck of the draw with the sense of "community" in a specific neighborhood.

Niche User:Meadows Place is a small town within the big city so to speak, so you feel like you are part of a tight knit community and neighbors look out for each other. It's sort of the best of both worlds, because you're right next to Houston and yet you feel like you live in a small town.

Parent:The sense of community here in Friendswood is awesome. There are a lot of growing businesses, a great police and fire department, great support for the school district and lots of great community events offered. Most people in this area have been born and raised here and are now raising their children and grand children here. The community is very pet/family friendly and allows pets at at many of the community events.

Although, I would never leave my house unlocked, I wouldn't worry too much if I forgot one day. The officers have an eye for spotting crime and will act immediately, its very safe.

    Katy

    • Suburb of Houston, TX
    • 68 reviews
Niche User:This one one of the best places to live outside the city of Houston. Out of 1 to 10 I give it a 8 compared to everywhere else in the country, we have almost everything. It is a 30 minute drive to downtown Houston if there is no traffic. There is two parts to Katy, there is the city of Katy which is nice ,quite and small. That is where I live. Then there is the rest of Katy. Katy is growing so fast that there are two new high schools being built and there is going to be a new water park and boardwalk less than five minutes away from my house. And everywhere I look there is something new popping up. I kind of wish that it would have remain small because all the trees and grass areas are disappearing including the rice fields. But it is a awesome place to live and i would not go anywhere else besides some where tropical to get away from the cold during the winter.

    Missouri City

    • Suburb of Houston, TX
    • 220 reviews
Niche User:Compared to the other places I have lived before, Missouri City has been the best so far. Even though it's close to Houston, it feels like the suburbs. The environment is calm and non polluted. I have liced in Houston before and the quality of life was low, even though the housing costs were low as well. In the house I live, the cost is low but the quality is HIGH.

    Atascocita

    • Suburb of Houston, TX
    • 185 reviews
Niche User:Recently our high school football team made it to the semi-finals in the state tournament. Every single elementary and middle school that feeds into the high school had a "red out" day and made/signed banners for the hallways. Everyone on social media was talking about the game and every local business had something about it at their store. This is the exact definition of community pride, made me proud to be from here.
