Employment at Rock Island: We have many big companies like John Deere, but if the economy is not good then they are forced to do frequent layoffs leaving many without a job
    • 3
Local Businesses at Rock Island: We have a lot of major retail chains, but you have to travel across the river to Iowa for many of them
    • 3
Crime & Safety at Rock Island: We tend to have a few homicides occasionally, but they are focused on one end of the city. For the most part its not bad.
    • 3
Transportation at Rock Island: This also depends on where you are in the area. Some areas are congested more than others because of the local businesses around the area and some aren't. Construction and potholes are more of a problem than accidents and in the downtown area parking availability is scarce sometimes.
    • 3
Crime & Safety at Rock Island: Depending on where you are in the area depends on how safe you feel, because of the stereotypes people have about the poor part of town. The police and firefighters are quick to respond to a call and usually the stereotypical "bad neighborhoods" are not that bad.
