Food & Drink at San Marcos: I can't say that there are many nightlife options that offer high-quality late-night-food, the restaurants in general due. Although maybe I'm not the most qualified to answer that, considering I hardly go out bar-drinking or late night partying. Many places though, including The Root Cellar, Palmer's, Pie Society, and Mochas and Javas offer great food that I will always return for. Each provides foods prepared with quality ingredients and a unique atmosphere, both of which I love.

Employment at San Marcos: Because I am a college student and most of the people I know are also college students, the jobs I see my friends getting are those working retail at the outlets, Chili's and Carino's, and teaching lessons with middle-school and high-school level students. I myself have never worked nor sought a job in this area, so I can't personally grade the employment here.

Local Businesses at San Marcos: San Marcos is a small city, but you can tell that it's proximity to Austin, TX has influenced the diversity and uniqueness of the small businesses that exist here. The atmosphere is definitely one aimed at a youthful crowd, but not so much that older adults cannot find it appealing. There are many shops and restaurants along the square that are individually owned, which I appreciate very much as a resident. What I love most is that San Marcos is only growing and becoming more diverse in the businesses that populate it. Sure, there could be less sandwich shops, but that may be my only complaint. I adore the coffee shop Mochas and Javas and wouldn't know how I would have gone these past semesters without it.

Outdoors at San Marcos: I love going to the river and to Purgatory creek to walk my dog. Its beautiful would not want it any other way.

Crime & Safety at San Marcos: nothing has ever happened to me or my friends. I hardly hear of things that are life threatening that happen around my community.
