I have lived in this city my entire life and I must say some of my best days were spent downtown at the Gus Mackers, The Ethnic Festivals, Walking the east race or just enjoying seeing the sun hitting the Golden Dome on Notre Dames campus. I can't forget the Four H Fair and the south bend chocolate factory. YUM! Coming to south bend will give you an earnest feeling of being in a big city with a country atmosphere and setting. With that being said the city has suffered from careless acts of violence that has endangered as well as took the life of Innocent people. Don't get me wrong I know that violence is every where and all but here in this city where everybody should be grateful to feel the warmth and family like atmosphere that tries so hard to flow through good ole South Bend.

Generally, I find South Bend to be a comfortable place to reside in. I like it because it is not too big or too small for me. We do have the attraction of Notre Dame University. The Century Center also brings attraction to the city. The Krock Center provides many activities for the children and those with little to no income. On the downside, I do feel that there are too many areas with empty buildings and houses not being used. Yet, we had homeless people living under the bridges. I feel that the accessibility of busing kids to school could stand for some improvement. There is also too many shootings in the area.

South Bend has always been a city of hope and change. Immigrants first found hope here and neighborhoods were created from that hope and the desire to succeed. Fast forward to today and everywhere you look South Bend is ever changing. Smart Street initiatives, community health education, and neighborhood revitalization programs. Everyone from our police officers to public school teachers share a common drive to help the citizens of South Bend feel safe and live life to their fullest potential.
